More details

From March/April to November (or dry season) although it can be travelled all year round. Please note that if the weather is very bad, the trail could be dangerous and we may have to cancel the trip and perhaps replace it with another day’s walk or a day’s hike, depending on the circumstances.

This hike is classified as a moderate to challenging hike (intermediate to advanced) considering the high altitude, the amount of gain in a short period of time and the duration of the hike. It is recommended that you acclimatize in Cusco at least 2-3 days before this one-day hike.

The entrance tickets to the Humantay lake is 10 soles (around 3 USD) for Peruvian and foreign tourists, unless you are from Cusco, in which case the entrance is free.

If you wish to volunteer or donate, we can put you in touch with various communities in Cusco, who need help in various aspects, our main contact is:
Cristo Rey Tikari School: Located in Ocongate distric, close to Ausangate Mountain. They need some basic things like: clothes, toys, books, pens, pencils, brushes, etc.
